Description:

Signed, dated and inscribed: "A. C. Dies f. Romæ 1793 | Tempy della Sivilla, e di Vesta á Tivoli". The most frequently depicted view of Tivoli with the two Templars, which were used as churches in the Middle Ages, was therefore not destroyed high above the gorge of Anio. To the left is the church of S. Rocco. A drawing artist, perhaps a self-portrait, sits in front of the imposing scenery..
