Signed, dated and inscribed: "A. C. Dies f. Roma 1795 | Sepolcro di plauzio vicin' a Tivoli". 1st century circular tomb related to the tomb of the Caecilia Metella on the Via Appia Antica in Rome. It is located southwest of Tivoli on Via Tiburtina, which crosses Ponte Lucano, an Anio bridge. Schinkel calls the "Monument des Plautius" a "beautiful round building made of travertine stone", which is characterized by its medieval battlements and the "thick vegetation of ivy [...]. even more picturesque" (Schinkel 1979, p. 217)..
