"Lippert, the antiquarian, stands in his room at Dresden on the left in his dressing gown and slippers and, as he heard very heavily, holds his left hand to his left ear; next to him stands the draughtsman and engraver Adrian Zingg and speaks into his ear. Our artist sits to the right of a table next to the window and draws this group. Two busts stand on the left of a barrier. [...] With one of the artist's son, Wilhelm Chodowiecki, on the right side of the lower rim, a happy table company of five people etched, with the inscription on the middle of the wall "God save us only!". To the left of the table is a servant who serves. On the left half of this idea, separated in the middle by a wall with a window, one sees the view of the city of Dresden added by Zingg". (Engelmann 1857, p. 473).
