Oliver’s unique paintings are reminiscent of elements derived from Pop Culture. The large scale paintings are created from the artist’s feminist perspective, with interest in exploring relationships of gender specific roles, and stereotypes. These clean and flush archetypal images are painted with an eye for creative deduction, removing key facial specifics and replacing them with a flat stylized plain. With the use of color and gender as subject, the artist’s mission is to apply the slightest amount of detail, depicting social commentary in its many layers and intricacies.
