Jane Dixon Prints
Jane Dixon received her MA from the Royal College of Art in 1988 and since then has won numerous awards including the Rome Scholarship in Printmaking, the Rothko Fellowship, and Kettle's Yard Artist Fellow. In 2005, Jane was selected as one of the artists to represent the UK at the 26th Ljubljana International Graphic Biennale, Slovenia.
Jane works in series and integral to each body of work is the conceptual alignment between subject and method — a conceptual marriage in which the construction and materials are as much a part of the subject as the image. The works are often hybrid, containing elements of print, painting, drawing and photography both within their construction and in their conceptual foundation. Each series uses imagery researched both within its original context (for example, camouflaged buildings from World War II or antiquated medical machinery) and also within her own interpretive processes.
Jane has exhibited widely in Britain, Europe and Japan and her work can be found in many public and private collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the British Museum and the Arts Council Collection.
