Fine impression, well-inked, in the second state of two, with the parallel scraches on the left of the halo and the curly hair retouched, characteristic of the second state.
In very nice conditions, cut on the platemark, very slighty trimmed in the upper edge.
Rare.
A very attractive sheet, for the quality and for its prestigious provenances.
Winzinger for the first state list three impressions, Prints Cabinet in Amsterdam, Berlin and Bremen, only one sheet in private hands, with the Colnaghi’s provenance; for the second state we know 25 impressions in private hands and in the following Museums: Amsterdam, Basel, Berlin, Bruxelles, Budapest, Cambridge, Coburg, Dresden, Erlangen, Gotha, Karlsruhe, London, Munich, Oxford, Paris, Rothschild’s Collection, Paris, Regensburg, Stockholm,Wien, Weimer,Würzburg.
