This limited edition print was described by the artist as “a cheerful tribute to the great British seaside towns”, though we imagine this to be a characteristically ironic comment. An elderly person sits with arms folded and a resting cane, blissfully unaware of the impending circular saw threatening to disrupt their peace. Twelve years later Banksy famously revisited Weston Super Mare with his ‘bemusement park’ Dismaland. The artist’s relationship with the town is confounding. Does he seek to preserve these quintessentially tacky yet nostalgic seaside settlements or criticise the consumerism that inspires customers to visit? The print is in excellent condition and accompanied by a Pest Control COA.
