Medium: Homemade print (Diptych) , 1986, executed on an office colour copy machine on 100% rag Arches text 120g paper, with the artists blindstamp, signed and numbered by the artist in pencil below right.
Size: 8.5 x 14 in. (21.59 x 35.56 cm.)
Note: David Hockney had two dachshunds, Stanley and Boodgie, The result of sharp observation and affection he has made a number of paintings and prints depicting his”Best Friends” these paintings and drawings are lyrical studies in form and design and were the subject of a book entitled “Dog Days” published by Thames & Hudson. Another Home-made print of right same month shows “Stanley at 8 weeks”. The dog had obviously just appeared in Hockney’s life.
