David Row Biography

1949 -

David Row is a contemporary abstract painter associated with the movements of Postmodern Painting and Conceptual Abstraction. His primary aesthetic has evolved around a language of painterly fragmented geometric abstraction that is usually formed on shaped canvases and installations.

Row studied art receiving both his BA and MFA degrees at Yale. During his time there he studied under other artists including Joseph Albers, Al Held and Brice Marden.

Row has done extensive printmaking since 1989, producing over 25 editions as well as numerous monotype projects with various publishers and printshops.
