Don Gorvett is an American artist and printmaker. Don's main instincts are that of a painter. Because of his love for drawing and color, he has concentrated his efforts in the graphic medium of woodcut. His subjects center on the architectural and maritime activities of New England seafaring cities, and explores how memory is used to link the present and past.
This color woodcut was created by a reduction block and a trapping block. The trapping block was carved into the top of an old tool chest. Most of the edition comprise of unique combinations of color.
