Don Gorvett is an American artist and printmaker. Don's main instincts are that of a painter. Because of his love for drawing and color, he has concentrated his efforts in the graphic medium of woodcut. His subjects center on the architectural and maritime activities of New England seafaring cities, and explores how memory is used to link the present and past. 'The Cove in the Wake of the Blizzard' is a large reduction woodcut inspired by a tremendous winter blizzard in southern Maine at the time this print was produced. The study for this woodcut is available, however the block has been sold.
