Don Gorvett is an American artist and printmaker. Don's main instincts are that of a painter. Because of his love for drawing and color, he has concentrated his efforts in the graphic medium of woodcut. His subjects center on the architectural and maritime activities of New England seafaring cities, and explores how memory is used to link the present and past. This is the woodblock used to print the reduction woodcut "Woodbury Studio from the Marginal Way.” The fir plywood block is backed by pine strapping. The artist signature is carved into the back of the block. Please inquire about special pricing for purchasing woodcut, block, and study. “Woodbury Studio from the Marginal Way” reduction woodcut is in the collection of the MFA Boston.
