Etching on copper, signed on the plate bottom left ‘GFattori’
Baboni, CXXXIV; Bonagura 48; Servolini 153.
mm 183 x 282; sheet mm 195 x 290
An extremely fine impression, printed with black ink on white wove paper. The print shows an extensive work in the inking, using a ‘veil’ in the research of the effects of light and shadow on the animal and on the ground.
In very fine condition, except a little lack in the lower left corner that does not concern the platemark, with margins all around.
The plate is preserved in the Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe of Uffizi (Inv. 132 M).
Our impression is very close to that of Rosselli Collection (Bonagura, n. 48), very fresh and well-inked and with the same use of the ‘veil’ of ink in the research of the effects of light and shadow.
