This woodcut was one of the designs that was to serve as a signet for the magazine ‘Die Sichel’ (The Sickle). It can be assumed that the pictorial representation of the ‘conception’ should symbolize the moment of artistic inspiration. Published as edition in ‘Die Sichel’. Vol. II/2-3. Feb./Mar. 1920. Ed.
