Kaiko Moti was born in Bombay, India. He studied at the Bombay School of Fine Arts, and then at the University College in London with the support of a scholarship. In 1950 Moti relocated to Paris in order to study sculpture with the artist Ossip Zadkine, but due to the lack of studio space he switched to printmaking, studying at the Atelier 17 with Stanely Hayter and developing a distinctive style of ephemeral aquatints. Later in his career he taught at the University of Wisconsin. His work in in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the French National Museum of Modern Art, and the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris.
