Since the late 1990’s, KAWS has produced art toys to be circulated as global commodities. By engaging directly with branding, production, and distribution, his toys compel their collectors to consider what the commodity status of art objects is today. Robert Lazzarini is known for manipulating and distorting sculptures, he collaborated with KAWS to create a distorted version of the KAWS Companion.
