Additional Information: This item is a portfolio consisting of 6 poems by Jean Tardieu and 6 different original hand signed Lithographs by Max Ernst.
Each one of these 6 Lithographs is hand signed in pencil “max ernst” at the lower right margin and also hand numbered in pencil at the lower left margin.
This series of 6 lithographs was created by Max Ernst in 1939.
They were printed in the printing house of J.E. Wolfensberger in 1973, in a limited edition of only 59 examples, numbered from 26 to 84, encorporating the six lithographs in blue.
Each one of the 6 lithographs was printed on separate sheet of Chine paper that was then supported on BFK Rives paper, which bears the “BFK Rives France” watermark.
The publishers were Editions Brunidor and Editions Apeiros, Zurich.
The lithographs and poems are presented inside a fabric covered portfolio.
The last page of the book (justification page) is also hand signed in ink by the author of the book, Jean Tardieu.
