Description — Click to read

Mel Bochner (born 1940) is considered one of the founders of Conceptual Art. He belongs to a generation of artists that radically rejected the primacy of painting in art in the early 1960s. Bochner realized this break in particular through the introduction of language into his work. The balance between painterly and linguistic meaning, on the one hand, and descriptive and syntactic function, on the other, is varied graphically in the edition. Printed on randomly selected paper this serves background noise on which the content-free communication swells up into white noise and ebbs again. ‘Blah Blah Blah + Background Noise’ is a unique Silkscreen print from a series of 100, printed on both sides. Signed, numbered and dated. Sold unframed. Images in this listing are from one of a number of available prints from this series (note, the images used in this listing represent the front and back of one of the prints).
