Nathie Katzoff grew up in Newton, Massachusetts in an artistic family that encouraged and nourished his creative expression from a young age. At six years old, Nathie was spending his summers learning a variety of crafts, including the art of wooden shipbuilding and glass blowing, skills that fostered his love for working with time-tested traditional techniques and natural materials.
In his twenties, Katzoff moved to Seattle, Washington, where he founded NK Woodworking & Design and became internationally acclaimed for his award-winning art stairs, wooden baths, and fine furniture. Recently, his focus has been on cast and fused abstract glass sculptures in which he strives to imbue a sense of timelessness and tranquility. His expertise is in large-scale sculpture and architectural-art installations, using myriad materials such as wood, glass, metals, and composites.
