Lithograph on wove paper after a gouache by Pablo Picasso, published by Cercle d' Art Paris,1970. From the famous album 'Portraits Imaginairs' with 29 different lithographs after gouaches Pablo Picasso made in 1969. Signed and dated in the stone. The edition was 250 for the French market numbered in pencil with an F. and 250 for the American market number in pencil with an A. Some of them like this impression have the blind stamp of Georges Salinas, the printer of this series. In 1969 art material was delivered at Picasso's atelier in Mougins. The packing material, brown striped paper, was put in a corner. Instead to consider this as waste, Picasso saw in this paper a beautifull basis to paint on. In this year 1969 he painted a large serie of portraits on this paper: 'Les Portraits Imaginairs'. When his publisher visited his atelier he fell in love with this series and choose with Picasso 29 of the best to publish them in litho for the album 'Portraits Imaginairs'.
