A stunning image in its simplicity and so recognizably by Robert Motherwell, Slate Gray Pintura was created by the artist in 1975 as an aquatint, etching and collograph, the artwork hand-signed and numbered in pencil measuring 32 ¼ x 27 ¼ in. (82 x 69.2 cm), unframed, from the edition of 59. This original print is noted in the artist’s catalogue raisonnes as Belknap 152 and Engberg & Banach 183.
