Known for his androgynous stick figures constructed out of simple shapes, Stik’s large-scale works convey complex body language and emotions using a limited amount of detail. The subtle details are then contrasted with brightly colored backgrounds that emphasize the power of human emotions and expressions. Like fellow rogue street artist Banksy, Stik keeps his past a tightly guarded secret and shares very little about himself, except that he was homeless prior to becoming a recognized artist. This period of time spent on the streets heavily influences STIK art as he eloquently gives form to the idea of human vulnerability in an unadorned manner.
This AP edition of 20 was released in Japan – there was no main run and it is widely known that less than 10 of the Hip AP sets were released (the set comprised Blue, Red, Orange and Yellow)
