Color Slate Print, 1964, Ed. of 12 or more, in red and black, 31 x 8, on cream wove japan paper 34 x 11-7/8, with a loss to upper right margin corner, masking tape to outer margins, signed and dated by the artist in pencil, some pale discreet foxing and minor staining, excellent embossing. This print portrays from top to bottom: Jack Ruby, Lee Harvey Oswald’s assassin, Jackie Kennedy recieving the folded flag at JFK’s funeral, and John John, their son, in his famous salute, with the eternal flame at Kennedy’s grave. Kent started to carve the slate for the figure of Jack Ruby with gun eight days after Kennedy’s death for another print titled “We Want You”. At that time it was thought there was more than one assassin at large.
