South African artist William Kentridge uses black charcoal and ink to render gestural, expressive images. He is famous for his animations, in which he repeatedly retouches these images to create film stills.  “My work is about the provisionality of the moment,” the artist has said of his practice. ‘Yesterday’s Good Idea’ overlays gestural marks upon found paper, with the titular caption boldly written below. Printed onto individual pages of ledger paper, dated from the 1920’s, each of the 44 editions are subtly different. Sold on consignment.
