Printing – Center Street Studio

Center Street Studio is a professional printing workshop established in 1984 by artist and master printer James Stroud. Stroud’s printmaking training started with legendary printmaker Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17, Paris in 1980-81 and then continued while attaining his MFA degree in painting and printmaking from the Yale School of Art where he studied with Gabor Peterdi.

Over the last 30 years since starting the workshop, he has printed and published hundreds of print projects in etching, woodcut and monotype with established and emerging artists. His reputation for producing high quality, limited edition prints with artists of wide ranging sensibilities, from photo-realism to conceptual abstraction, is well known. He takes particular pride in discovering new talent and giving younger artists opportunities to publish prints.
