About Don Gorvett Gallery

Artist and master printmaker Don Gorvett has worked from his studio and gallery in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, since 2006. Don presently sells his large color woodcuts and drawings as well as the work of other nationally known contemporary artist and printmakers.Mr. Gorvett is a graduate of the School of the Museum Fine Arts, Boston, MA. He started his career as a painter, dividing his time between Gloucester, Massachusetts, and Ogunquit, Maine. During Don’s residency at Stillington Hall in Gloucester, Ma., he organized public classical music concerts, and created his first reduction woodcuts. In 1990 Mr. Gorvett moved permanently to Ogunquit, Me., where he continued his interest in the technique of the reductions woodcut. From 1990 to the present Don continues to create and exhibit his large reduction woodcuts and drawings as well as produce exhibitions for gallery artists throughout the year.
