Kip Gresham, who died earlier this year aged 72 of pancreatic cancer, made and published prints of works by leading British and international artists. A pioneer in screen-printing technology, he loved collaborating: “The day-to-day reality is one of dirty hands, bad backs, beautiful colours, seductive papers and, above all, surprises from the artists, those magicians,” he wrote. In his own right, he produced colourful abstract works.
Kip’s obituary is well worth a read and indicates what a powerful influence Kip had on the development of British fine art printing over the last 50 years. Always modest when spoken to about his work, the obituary shows his real impact.
