David Shrigley (born 1968) is a British artist known for his witty, irreverent drawings, sculptures, and texts that blend dark humor with deadpan simplicity. His work often features crude, childlike line drawings paired with absurd or ironic statements that reflect on the human condition, everyday anxieties, and societal quirks. Shrigley’s art defies traditional aesthetic norms, favoring raw expression and conceptual punch over polish. He has exhibited internationally and was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2013.
