Hand is the largest edition Katharina Stangler has ever created in terms of format!
The work Hand measures 119cm high x 85cm wide. There are only 24 copies.
The work oscillates in a special way between figuration and abstraction.
We see the heads of two figures, their bodies can only be guessed at. They are surrounded by flag-like plants. The figure on the right looks straight at us, the viewers. Its gaze fixes us, and we concentrate on it at first. Then our eyes begin to slide down to the lower edge of the picture. From the clearly contoured heads of the figures, the color flows downwards more and more – a river of color is created, which leads to a completely abstract, blurred color space.
The work has a fantastic dynamic!
