Richard Anuszkiewicz (1930-2020) was known for his investigations into the properties and qualities of color in an abstract, hard-edged geometric style. A practitioner of "Op" (for optical) art, Anuszkiewicz's works at Graphicstudio include prints, bas-relief constructions, and welded steel sculptures, made between 1972 and 1992.
Anuskiewicz's first collaboration at the studio yielded a series of lithographs exploring very light colors in delicate gradations, which represent a tour de force of the art of printmaking. Suncoast, Largo, Clearwater, Tampa Summer, and Tampa Winter offer differing studies of the particularities of the climate the artist, a northerner, encountered during his work in Tampa.
