Robert Freeman Biography

Robert Freeman is an artist and photographer, whose best-known work includes his album cover photographs for The Beatles, and the design work on their first two films and related posters and advertising materials.

Robert Freeman was The Beatles’ favoured photographer during 1963 to 1966, and shot arguably the most iconic images of them. He created the album cover art for With The Beatles, Beatles for Sale, Help! and Rubber Soul.

Robert Freeman first came to prominence as a photojournalist working for The Sunday Times, and was selected to photograph the first-ever Pirelli calendar, released in 1964.
