Untitled from The New York Collection for Stockholm
By Robert Whitman
Robert Whitman (born 1935) is an American artist known for his pioneering contributions to performance art, multimedia installations, and experimental theater. Emerging in the 1960s, he integrated live performance, film, sound, and projected images to create immersive, sensory-rich experiences. A co-founder of Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.), Whitman often blurred the lines between technology and art, emphasizing the viewer’s perception and the ephemeral nature of time and space in his work.
