The Artist

Victor Mignot

Belgian painter, printmaker and lithographer. Self-taught, he flourished from 1890s first as an illustrator; he contributed to various Magazines (Le Cyclisme Belge in 1892), published his own sports magazine a year later and in 1896 he designed the poster for the Jaarbeurs in Brussels.
Later, he found an inspiration in the female nude. In his etchings and drawings he glorified the female body.
Among others, he exhibited with the Kunstkring Le Sillon. He settled in Paris around 1910.
