David Krut Arts is an independent organisation with a committed team of cultural workers working across its gallery and workshop. The organisation is dedicated to collaborating with artists and creatives, encouraging careers in the arts, as well as in related literature and media, and promoting contemporary culture within a dynamic, collaborative environment.
David Krut Projects (DKP) provides a platform for artists and creatives to come together through conversation and collaboration at its experimental workshop at Arts on Main in Johannesburg’s inner city. David Krut Fine Art, Inc. began its activities in September 2001 and continues in the West Chelsea Art Building. Amongst the artists introduced to New York by the gallery are William Kentridge, El Anatsui, Santu Mofokeng and Aida Muluneh. The current emphasis of the gallery is the introduction of emerging artists from South Africa who have collaborated at the Johannesburg workshop.
