Galerie Raphael was founded in 1981 by Petru Petrov and is since 2011 under the guidance of his son Raphael Petrov. For now over 40 years the gallery specializes in original classical modern, post-war and contemporary prints, with a focus on artists like Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Takashi Murakami, Alex Katz and Sam Francis.
The gallery is located at Domstraße 6 in the heart of Frankfurt, next to the Museum of Modern Art (Museum Für Moderne Kunst). In addition to exhibitions in the gallery space, Galerie Raphael participates in international art fairs including Art Miami, Art Toronto and Art Karlsruhe.
