About the Artist: Charles Fazzino is an American Pop artist who creates bright and highly detailed three-dimensional serigraphs. His painstaking method of silkscreen printing combined with hand-cut paper collage, results in three-dimensional illustrations. Fazzino’s broad subject matter ranges from cityscapes to sporting, and leisure events to cultural scenes, featuring intricately drawn detail and whimsical narrative. “Happiness in color,” he once stated. “It’s the type of art you don’t have to have an art education to understand. It makes you feel good when you look at it. It’s fun, it’s sentimental, and everybody responds to it.” Born on December 26, 1955 in Westchester, NY, Fazzino graduated from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan with his BFA in 1977. Fazzino’s graphic style is aligned with other contemporary Pop artists such as Romero Britto and James Rizzi. The artist currently lives and works in Westchester, NY. Many of Fazzino’s works, including his Big Apple works, have been made and marketed as three-dimensional puzzles for children.
