Gabriele Evertz’s work explores the dual languages of color and geometry. Combining different hues in addition to grays, the artist leads the viewer to experience color effects that change with viewing distance and duration. In her own words: “Attentive viewing may turn from phenomenological moments to states of reflection, which bring with them a heightened awareness of being-in-the-world where vision, thought, and feeling concur.” In (A-) Chromatics, a series of six lithographs, Evertz arrives at a gradual shift between each print, asking the viewer to experience the subtle changes of color in the series as a whole.
