Guest Curation – The Nature Of Art

A guest curation by Blair Thomson of Addicted Art Gallery, Singapore.

“Nature” in artwork is a topic that has been around for centuries. Artists have always been inspired by the beauty of nature and have tried to capture this beauty in their work.

The use of natural elements in art dates back to ancient times, when ancient Egyptians would use natural materials like limestone and malachite to create sculptures and jewellery. Today, artists are still using natural elements like plants, flowers, animals and water as inspiration for their work.

Some artists even incorporate the idea of nature into the art itself – such as paintings or sculptures made from natural materials. Others might choose to include themes about nature in their artwork – for example, an artist might paint a picture about the environment or animal conservation.
