Garage Litho is a lithography workshop located at 7 rue Sainte-Marthe in Paris. We support artists in the creation of original prints, from the initial drawing on the stone to the final print. Our approach is based on close collaboration with the artist, allowing us to tailor the technique to the graphic intentions of each project.
Lithography is a direct printing process: the image is drawn by hand onto a grained limestone slab, then fixed and printed. The artwork is built up through successive layers, according to the artist's aesthetic choices. The process requires precision, consistency, and a thorough knowledge of inks, papers, and the stone itself.
The workshop is equipped with a Marinoni Voirin press, a high-precision flatbed press that allows for consistent and controlled printing. Inks are prepared in-house, and prints are made on 100% cotton paper, chosen for its stability and durability. Each print is a unique, handcrafted original.
