The British artist Howard Hodgkin is famous for being a printmaker, painter and also a collector. He began his career in art after studying at both the Camberwell Art School and the Bath Academy of Art. Howard Hodgkin first exhibited his work in a show in 1962. His works are mainly abstract hough his style has changed over the years. His earlier pieces consisted of curved forms and used only a limited amount of colours. His work then became more spontaneous consisting of semi-abstract bold forms and bright colours and has been likened to the work of another artist Henri Matisse.
