AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND HAUNTING PORTFOLIO OF EIGHT SIGNED DRYPOINTS BY ANDRE DUNOYER DE SEGONZAC, depicting scenes from World War I. These are not battle scenes, but rather depict the everyday lives of the French combattants: in the trenches, on patrol, etc. Each drypoint measures 28.3 x 22.8 cm (sheet), is signed and justified by the artist, and features Petiet’s blindstamp in the lower margin. From a total edition of 75 numbered sets, this is ONE OF ONLY 17 ON IMPERIAL JAPANESE PAPER. 4to. Loose as issued in board portfolio with printed paper label on cover. A PRISTINE SET: FINE AND BRIGHT, exactly as issued. A great rarity, in excellent condition.
