Title

Heel to Toe, Toe to Heel

Description

Heel to Toe, Toe to Heel employs a fragmented abstract language, contrasting negative and positive shapes to establish a powerful, repeating vertical rhythm. The relationships among the yellow, blue, and white linear forms evoke dancers in motion, a musical score, letters on a text, or sound markings that suggest speech or choreographic sequences. As with dance, language, or music, the composition holds the potential to extend infinitely across a horizontal frieze-like panel.

Heel to Toe, Toe to Heel reflects the capacity of abstraction to create a visual and conceptual experience through associative thinking. The combination of blue and yellow pastel colors against the stark white of the paper provides an intimate point of entry, inviting the viewer to construct their own dialogue.
