Title

Live Oak - Landa Park

Description

Originally designed in 1924, this is from Baumann's second campaign printed in 1929 (numbering reflects this: II 27-125). There were also a few proofs printed later, around 1951 or 1952. This is one of Baumann's rare images of Texas, and depicts a part of Land Park in New Braunfels. Landa Park is a major recreation spot encompassing 196 acres in the northwest section of New Braunfels, Texas. This large vintage oak still lives, but its structure has drastically changed since Baumann’s rendition of it, and it is now protected from visitors. The benches are gone, as it the walkway around the tree.
