Staffa is an island of the Inner Hebrides, Scotland known for its pillars. Original pencil signed limited edition etching with gravure printed on Somerset paper. Printed in collaboration with master printmaker Hugh Stoneman, it comes with a photocopy of the Stoneman gallery paperwork. Stoneman was one of the greatest master printmakers of the 20th century, working with some of the best artists of the time including Patrick Heron, Eileen Cooper, John Hoyland, Terry Frost, and many others. McKeever and Stoneman collaborated on printmaking for 18 years creating a large number of high quality prints. Signed and dated in pencil and numbered from the edition of 50. Also titled ‘Staffa I’ in pencil lower right corner of sheet. Unframed, excellent condition.

Excellent condition, this stunning etching reflects the abstract style that McKeever adopted from the mid 1980s. The tones are quite striking in this work in black, brown and white.
