Iakovos “Jake” Chapman and Konstantinos “Dinos” Chapman are English artists who work together a sibling duo.
They both attended the University of East London’s – now non-existent – Art college at Greengate House in Plaistow. They then Enrolled at the Royal College of Art.
Their early work heavily featured grotesque depictions of child disfigurement, torture and Nazi symbols. They also took work from other artists (e.g. Francisco Goya) and defaced them. The brothers attracted controversy by taking work apparently created by Adolf Hitler and ‘prettifying’ them with hippie motifs.
In their 2003 the brothers were nominated for the Turner Prize.
