A FINE PROOF OF THE FIRST STATE ON IMPERIAL JAPANESE PAPER FROM THE COLLECTION OF MARCEL GUERIN (his stamp in margin, Lugt 1872b), the compiler of the first catalogue raisonné of Forain’s etchings.
Only two or three impressions of this state were printed; this one, it would seem, is surely the one reproduced in Guérin’s catalogue raisonné.
In excellent conditon, with huge margins.
