The Late Albert Irvin OBE RA continued to work with incredible energy up until his death at the age of 92 in March 2015. This energy is captured in his vibrantly-coloured abstract work. The urban location of Irvin’s ex-schoolroom studio and the city environment in which he lived and worked fuelled his paintings and prints which are often named after local streets or areas.
Irvin made screenprints for many years at Advanced Graphics London, a printmaking studio and gallery in Borough, which exclusively uses oil-based inks thus achieving an incredible vibrancy of colour and heavy, layered surfaces.
