In this archival print produced from a 35mm slide, Marisa J Futernick interrogates the failed promise of the American Dream. This work addresses issues of class, progress and real estate. Her signature style combines the personal and historical, fact and fiction.
Futernick is particularly interested in the post-war period of her parents’ generation, and how it affects the present. US born, the artist has lived in London for over a decade, during which her art has become increasingly focused on her home country.
