Neon on plexiglass.
Hand-signed by the artist on the back.
Patrick’s neon sign works are fabricated to mirror street-level commercial signage, but are remixed to present words and phrases drawn from literary and oratorical sources.
What happened to peace? – a line from Eric B And Rakim’s 1987 album Paid in Full closes the record like a casual sign-off. But when repurposed as a neon storefront sign in 2025, the phrase takes on a heavier significance. Against the backdrop of America’s ongoing involvement in wars across the globe and the rising division within its borders, the question lingers.
