The spider’s web is a metaphor for our fragile existence, suspended on thin strands.
The TOILE by Valentin Carron, on the other hand, is made of gilded bronze, as if to keep alive two opposing poles: lightness and heaviness. The transubstantiation of one material into another is at the heart of a fragile dynamic that spans his entire body of work, wavering between authenticity and artifice. The artist wants to keep the play area open because it is also that of creation.
